Tips
- Talk to a TRUSTED artist
- Usually those with multiple tattoos are the most reliable and promising (in my point of view).
- Make sure all equipment is sterile (watch him/her take everything out of the packages).
- It doesn't hurt to ask for a permit or license
- Pick a tattoo that means something to you. It's permanent, so make it count.
- Be budget friendly. Talk to the artist and see what they recommend. Prices are based on colors of ink, size, location, and detail.
If you're in the process of getting a tattoo:
- Anti-bacterial soap (liquid Dial-Gold worked well for me).
- A&D will be your best friend for a couple days.
- Wear comfortable clothing.
- Bring a friend. They may not be able to sit with you in the tattoo area, but it's good to have a support system.
- Bring snacks. Chips, cookies, water, juice. These are all things you should bring with you (or at least eat before you go because if your iron is down, you'll soon follow).
