The Kardashian Effect

As many of you know, the Kardashian sisters have released a few books since 2012 began. The novel, Doll House, and the tell-all book "Kardashian Konfidential" have hit bookstores, the internet, and of course, my desk here at school. With all of the madness going on, I have to say that I am satisfied with these publications. Who would have thought that so much could be learned about a family just by reading a book? Obviously someone did, because I know I have spent my free nights bouncing back and forth between the two.
You may be asking yourself, "Why are you ready THOSE books?" Truth is, I find them interesting and informational. What is seen in the press doesn't always represent who someone is. In the novel Doll House, a story of a family, very similar to that of the Kardashian's, sheds some light on what their lives were possibly like. There are many characteristics amongst the characters that keep readers interested, and doing such provides a new way to view the family. Obviously I'm not going to tell you what goes on in the book, but I will tell you that it is very well written and worth the time to read.
Kardashian Konfidential, on the other hand, is a book of insight that Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe, have decided to share with the world. The book gives the public a glance at what their lives really are like and how they got to where they are today. Say whatever you want, but I know this defiantly backed up and showed me that there is more than just what is seen on TV.
Whether you're a Kardashian fan or not, read a summary or abstract from each publication. Whatever we see on television and in the media is one thing, but you can never judge a book written by someone else. All you have is you believe and your own perspective. Pick up a copy. I guarantee you'll learn something new. :)
